Image Splitter
Divide one picture into an even grid of PNG tiles. Optional overlap helps with large-format printing and panorama workflows; a ZIP manifest records exact crop and core coordinates for gap-free reconstruction.
How do I split an image into equal tiles?
Choose a raster image, enter the number of columns and rows, and optionally set an overlap in pixels. Download one ZIP containing the PNG tiles and a JSON map. For seamless assembly, use each tile’s core rectangle from the map; the overlapping edge pixels are there as extra working area.
Frequently asked questions
How do I split an image into equal tiles?
Choose a raster image, enter the number of columns and rows, and optionally set an overlap in pixels. Download one ZIP containing the PNG tiles and a JSON map. For seamless assembly, use each tile’s core rectangle from the map; the overlapping edge pixels are there as extra working area.
Is my image uploaded?
No. Your image is decoded, split and zipped in this browser. Nothing is uploaded or saved by the tool; reset the page to release its preview and temporary download.
How do I reassemble the original image?
Open manifest.json in the ZIP. Place each tile at its source x/y position and, when overlap is enabled, crop to that tile’s core rectangle. The core rectangles cover the full original canvas exactly once, without gaps.
Does overlap add pixels to the final image?
No. Overlap adds neighboring pixels around internal tile edges for print or editing workflows. The manifest marks a non-overlapping core inside each tile so the original dimensions can be reconstructed.
Can I split by a fixed tile size?
Yes. Choose fixed tile dimensions and enter a width and height in pixels. Edge tiles shrink to fit the image. Use the ZIP manifest core rectangles to reassemble the image without gaps.
