Frequently asked questions

How do you play Killer Sudoku?

Complete the standard Sudoku rows, columns and 3×3 boxes. Each dotted cage must add to its small target number, and no digit may repeat within a cage. The puzzle generator checks that each new board has exactly one solution.

Are my Killer Sudoku moves uploaded?

No. Puzzle generation, notes, hints and checking run in this browser. Your board is not uploaded or saved by this tool.

What makes Killer Sudoku different from regular Sudoku?

Killer Sudoku adds dotted cages. The digits in each cage must sum to its target and cannot repeat, alongside the usual row, column and 3×3 box rules.

Does every generated puzzle have one solution?

The browser solver checks the generated puzzle and only returns it after confirming exactly one solution within a bounded search. If the device reaches its limit, the tool reports that it could not generate a puzzle.

Can I play Killer Sudoku on a phone?

Yes. The board works with touch and a numeric keyboard, though a larger screen may be more comfortable. Puzzle generation uses your device and can take longer on slower hardware.
