Example
For CHF 8,000 per salary payment and 13 payments, annual gross is CHF 104,000. Federal employee contributions are estimated from the annual salary; enter annual plan and tax deductions to estimate the net scenario.
How it works
The federal rates are the same across cantons, but your pension plan, non-occupational accident premium and source tax depend on your plan, employer and personal case. Enter those annual amounts from a payslip or current employer estimate. Canton and tax status are shown for context; this tool does not reconstruct cantonal source-tax tables or annual income tax.
Frequently asked questions
Is this an exact Swiss take-home-pay quote?
No. It estimates statutory nationwide employee contributions and subtracts the annual payroll-specific amounts you enter. The result is only as complete as those inputs.
Why do I have to enter pension and accident deductions?
Occupational pension contributions depend on the pension fund and plan. Non-occupational accident premiums depend on the insurer, industry and employer risk. There is no single employee amount that can be inferred from gross salary alone.
Can it calculate source tax from my canton?
No. Source-tax tariffs use personal and payroll details and the published files are intended for employers and payroll-software providers. Enter the amount from your current payslip or employer estimate.
How does the 13th salary work here?
Enter the gross amount of one regular salary payment and choose 13 payments. The calculator annualizes the gross amount first, applies annual contribution limits, and divides the resulting net estimate across the 13 payments.
Does the canton change AVS/AI/APG or unemployment rates?
The federal employee rates used here are nationwide. Canton-specific source tax and other employer or plan deductions are not calculated automatically.
Limits and accuracy
Use realistic values. The tool explains assumptions and does not replace professional, official or safety advice where that applies.
