Swiss Annual Tax Scenario Comparator

Use the official Swiss Federal Tax Administration (ESTV) calculator for each household and municipality. Enter its results here to compare the annual tax breakdown, effective rates and differences side by side.

Your inputs stay on this device. Nothing is uploaded.

Use the tool

On ESTV, choose income and wealth tax, tax year, municipality and household details. Copy the taxable bases and final tax breakdown into a scenario here.

Scenario 1
Entered tax breakdown
Scenario 2
Entered tax breakdown

Enter the annual figures from an ESTV result. You can compare up to four scenarios.

Example

Run the same household and tax year for two municipalities in the ESTV calculator, then enter both result breakdowns here. A difference is marked comparable only when the year and taxable income and wealth bases match.

How it works

This companion does not estimate tax or reproduce canton tax tables. ESTV keeps its calculator current with the applicable federal, cantonal, municipal and church rules. This page calculates totals and effective rates only from the figures you enter.

Frequently asked questions

Does this calculate my Swiss tax automatically?

No. It compares the amounts you copy from the official ESTV calculator. It does not apply tax laws or estimate a canton or municipality.

Why use this page instead of the ESTV calculator?

Use ESTV for the current individual calculation. Use this page to keep several result breakdowns together, compare effective rates and export a local CSV.

Can I compare two municipalities?

Yes. For a meaningful comparison, keep the tax year, household situation, taxable income and taxable wealth the same in both ESTV calculations.

Are my entries uploaded?

No. Calculations run in your browser. This tool does not send the entered tax amounts to a server.

Is a result a binding tax assessment?

No. ESTV describes its online calculation as non-binding. The final assessment by the competent tax authority can differ.

Limits and accuracy

Use realistic values. The tool explains assumptions and does not replace professional, official or safety advice where that applies.
