A quick example
If the pile shows a queen, you may play a queen, king or ace. A 2 resets the next play so any rank can follow; a 10 burns the pile and gives you another turn.
How to play
This version uses one standard 52-card deck without jokers and the Norwegian rules described by Norske kortspill. Each player receives three hidden table cards, three visible cards on top, and three hand cards. Before play, swap any hand cards with your own visible cards. Play one or more cards of the same rank that are at least as high as the top card. A 2 lets the next player play any rank; a 10 or four consecutive cards of one rank burns the pile and gives the same player another turn. After a hand play, draw back up to three while the stock lasts. When your hand and the stock are empty, play your visible cards, then turn hidden cards over one at a time without looking. An illegal hidden card and the pile go into your hand. The first player out wins; play continues until the last player is the Idiot.
Frequently asked questions
How many people can play?
Play with two to five seats: you and one to four local computer opponents.
What happens when I cannot play?
Take the whole pile into your hand, or risk drawing the top stock card. A risky card must be played if it fits; otherwise you take that card and the pile.
Can I choose a hidden table card?
Yes. Once your hand is empty and the stock is gone, choose one hidden card without seeing its rank first. If it cannot be played, take it and the pile.
Does the game end when someone wins?
The first player to clear all their cards wins. The remaining players keep playing until only one still has cards; that player is the Idiot.
Are house rules included?
No. This version states one ruleset. Optional rules such as jokers, sequences, extra swaps or different 10 rules are not included.
Is my game uploaded or saved?
The game stays in this browser on this device. Saving is optional and uses local storage; you can delete it at any time.
Rules and limitations
Regional rules vary. This version follows the named Norske kortspill ruleset: 2–5 players, no jokers, 2 and 10 special, and four equal cards burn the pile. The computer opponents make simple legal choices. This is a single-device game, not online multiplayer.
