What you need
Choose the price area from your electricity agreement. Use its hourly spot price in NOK/kWh before VAT, not your final supplier price. Include every hour in each full month.
How the comparison works
The standard household support pays 90% of each hourly spot-price amount above NOK 0.77/kWh before VAT, for eligible use up to 5,000 kWh per month. Norgespris uses a fixed reference price of NOK 0.50/kWh including VAT (NOK 0.40 without electricity VAT); its settlement uses the full month’s area-average spot price and eligible metered use. The cap is 5,000 kWh/month for a home or 1,000 kWh/month for a holiday home. A household can choose one scheme, not both. Network charges and other fees are entered separately and added to all scenarios. The comparison uses the exact hourly data you provide; it does not fetch prices.
Common questions
Does this fetch live spot prices?
No. Add hourly area spot prices excluding VAT from a source you trust. Do not use a total supplier price that includes VAT, markup or network charges. No market-price service is contacted.
Does it estimate my full electricity bill?
It estimates the energy component and adds the network and other charges you enter. Fixed charges, tax rates, VAT treatment and bill details can vary; compare the breakdown with your invoice.
Can a holiday home receive ordinary electricity support?
No. The standard household electricity support is not available for holiday homes. Norgespris can apply to a holiday home, with a 1,000 kWh monthly cap.
Does this say which scheme I should choose?
No. It compares the supplied 2026 hourly data under the published rules. A Norgespris order has a binding period through 31 December 2026 after the cancellation period. Check the current NVE terms before choosing.
Scope and limits
Norway household electricity only · rules for 2026 · estimates are calculated locally. This tool does not fetch current prices, determine eligibility, cover district heating or business meters, or calculate a complete invoice. The VAT setting must match your electricity invoice. It uses user-entered hourly spot prices excluding VAT and entered network/other charges excluding VAT. Check your meter type, municipality, monthly caps, supplier terms and official rules with NVE or your grid operator.
