Example
Illustration only: with a 2027 determining average annual income of CHF 46,080 and 44 of 44 credited contribution years, the estimated full monthly pension is CHF 1,946. From 2026, a qualifying old-age pension is paid 13 times per year; this scenario assumes the pension is payable for all 12 months.
How it works
The determining average annual income (RAM) is not your current salary. It reflects indexed contribution earnings and may include education and care credits and income splitting. Use the amount shown in your official account or forecast. This scenario covers one person at normal retirement age; it does not reconstruct a career from salary or determine age eligibility.
Frequently asked questions
Can I enter my current salary?
No. The official determining average annual income is based on the insured career, indexation and applicable credits. A current salary alone cannot predict it.
Where do I find the determining average annual income?
Use your AHV individual account, an official ESCAL forecast or your compensation office. This tool does not infer it from age, country or present-day pay.
Does this include care and education credits or married-couple splitting?
Only if those effects are already included in the official average income you enter. The tool cannot determine your individual credits or split income.
Does it calculate early or deferred retirement?
No. It shows normal-retirement scenarios only. Early claim reductions, deferral increases, transition-generation supplements and spouse caps require individual official records and are not included.
Why is there a 13th payment?
Since 2026, people entitled to an AHV old-age pension in December receive an additional annual payment. This estimate assumes a full year of entitlement and does not include child or transition supplements.
Is this an official pension decision?
No. It is an estimate using the values you provide. Your compensation office determines the binding pension after checking the insured record.
Limits and accuracy
Use realistic values. The tool explains assumptions and does not replace professional, official or safety advice where that applies.
