Example
If an adult enters CHF 400 monthly premium at a CHF 300 deductible and CHF 350 at a CHF 2,500 deductible, the annual premium difference is CHF 600. Compare that saving with the modeled difference in cost sharing at each of your low, expected and high eligible-cost amounts.
How the estimate works
For compulsory Swiss basic health insurance, an adult standard deductible is CHF 300 and a child deductible is CHF 0. Optional levels differ by age group. After the deductible, the standard retention fee is 10% of eligible remaining costs, capped at CHF 700 per year for adults and CHF 350 for children. The tool adds your entered premium to this modeled cost sharing; it does not fetch insurer rates or decide which option is right for you.

Scope and exclusions
This is a scenario comparison, not insurance, medical or financial advice. It does not predict your treatment or premiums. It excludes hospital day contributions (normally CHF 15 per inpatient day, with statutory exemptions), special 40% retention on certain medicines, maternity/preventive exemptions, services outside compulsory cover, premium subsidies and supplementary insurance. Actual co-payment can therefore differ. A higher deductible means you need to be able to pay more upfront if you receive care.
