Example
A DOCX with Heading 1 styles for Experience and Education shows those headings. A PDF is checked from its selectable text; columns may be read in a different order.
How local resume review works
DOCX files are inspected locally as Office ZIP/XML. PDFs are read with a deferred local PDF.js engine. The optional job-description comparison counts selected terms in each text; it does not create a score or recommend whether to hire someone.
Resume checker questions
Does this tool upload or save my resume?
No. Parsing and analysis run in your browser. The file text is not sent to a server or retained after you clear the report or leave the page.
Does it predict whether an ATS or employer will accept my resume?
No. It checks readable text and simple structure only. Hiring systems differ, and this is not an ATS compatibility guarantee or hiring prediction.
Can it read a scanned PDF?
Only if the PDF has a selectable text layer. This checker does not download OCR models; use an OCR tool first for a scanned image-only document.
What does the job-description comparison mean?
It shows counts for recurring terms after simple normalization. It is not a match percentage, ranking, recommendation or assessment of your qualifications.
Why does a PDF show fewer headings than a DOCX?
PDFs usually do not preserve semantic heading styles. The checker estimates prominent lines from text size and reading order, so columns and visual design can affect the result.
Scope and limitations
This is a format and text-structure check, not an ATS simulator, legal review or prediction of interview success. Scanned PDFs without selectable text need OCR first. Password-protected, macro-enabled, signed or unusually large documents are not supported.
